Dr Savita Uppal on Wednesday took over as a principal at Arya College here in the presence of the managing committee of college. Prior to this posting, Dr Uppal was Principal at Ganga Giri Janta College, Raikot, since 2004. Dr Uppal ensured that she will fulfill the new assignment with all the dedication and commitment. TNS
Student clinches rank in PU examination
Ludhiana: Himani, a student of BCA IV-semester, Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women, brought laurels by securing I position in Panjab University. With 83.14 per cent marks, she expressed gratitude towards her teachers for their constant guidance and support. College principal, Kirandep Kaur, congratulated and applauded the students. She praised Himani for adding another feather in cap of the college. She said all students should strive to achieve success and make their college and parents proud. President of the college managing committee Swarn Singh and secretary Kanwalinder Singh congratulated the students. They also praised the staff members for their hard work.
Software training programme ends
Centre of Excellence for Farm Machinery (formerly known as MERADO) , Gill Road, had organised a software training programme under the guidance of Prof Harish Hiarni , Director , Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute which concluded here recently. Nodal scientist and coordinator of the programme BD Bansal informed that 19 students from college of Agricultural Science & Technology, AKS University, Satna and Department of Mechanical Enigneering , B R Ambedkar , National Institute of Technology , Jalandhar, attended the training programme. In the valedictory session of programme that took place on July 28, trainees were awarded the certificates of participation for skill enhancement.
Lecture on breast-feeding at DD Jain College
DD Jain College of Education organised an awareness talk on “Breastfeeding and Women Health” here today. The lecture was delivered by Dr Poonam Rastogi, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Senior Consultant at Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana. She enlightened the students on the benefits of breastfeeding for the mother and the child. She explained in detail that how it affects the overall health of both mother and child. In the end, Dr Vijay Laxmi, principal of the college, thanked Dr Poonam for the valuable information and wisdom she shared with the students. — TNS
