The inaugural ceremony of the one-week faculty development programme on the theme of data analytics, organised under TEQIP-III, a project of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, was held at the department of computer science and engineering of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College today.

Shivank Laul from Infosys Limited was the chief guest of the function. He elaborated upon the mechanics of data analysis with its various application areas.

Principal Sehijpal Singh spoke on the emerging trends in data analytics and appreciated the department for its endeavour to organise such programmes.

Harwinder Singh from TEQIP-III laid emphasis on the importance of such initiatives in enhancing the knowledge of the faculty.

Parminder Singh, head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, welcomed the participants and assured them that this programme would benefit them in identifying the research trends prevailing in data analytics.

Sumeet Kaur Sehra, programme coordinator, provided an insight into the contents to be covered in the programme.

The participants from various institutes will attend this programme from June 24 to 29.
