Ludhiana, December 19
Following a complaint about alleged encroachment at the Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar market, a team of the Municipal Corporation visited the area but they found no encroachment at the site.
Earlier, a city-based RTI activist had complained to Chief Minister Amarinder Singh regarding the alleged encroachment and illegal construction on government land at the market. The activist had alleged that a three-storey building had come up on ‘encroached’ land.
Assistant Town Planner of Ludhiana Improvement Trust Satish Kumar said there were 11 SCFs as per the plan. Assistant Town Planner of MC in Zone D Vijay Kumar said they visited the site and found that the complaint was totally ‘false’, as there was no encroachment on government land. He said the new construction took place at the site as per the approved building plan. — TNS
