Ludhiana: The chain of Green Land Schools organised an English declamation contest on Wednesday in Ram Labhaya Rudhra Auditorium at Green Land Sr Sec Public School, Jalandhar bye pass, in which students of classes VI to XII participated with great enthusiasm. As many as 20 students participated in two categories. The category I was for classes VI to VIII and category II was for classes IX to XII.
Principal awarded
Dr Manjit Kaur Makkar, director- cum-principal of Guru Gobind Singh Public School, Pakhowal Road, Daad, was honored with 'Shikshaksri Award' by the selection committee members 'Smarasta Rashtriya Samta Swatantra Manch'. The award was presented by the Vice Chancellor, Delhi University, and Governor of Delhi, for her remarkable contribution in the field of education while assessing the services used in a scientific way of teaching, according to school authorities.
Teacher’s Day celebrations
Doraha: The Teacher’s Day progamme of Green Grove Public School, Doraha, was organised with incredible gusto and zeal by the students of various classes. The students welcomed the gathering, delivered a poignant discourse on the essence and spirit of Teacher’s Day . To mark the auspicious day, a rich tribute was paid to Dr Radha Krishnan President. A play by students of classes IX and X was performed which depicted the warm relationship between a teacher and a student.
Doraha Public School
The school celebrated Teacher's Day with students of classes III to VIII. The students, dressed in traditional attires, paid glowing tributes to their teachers through folk songs, dances, role - plays and speeches amply displaying the talents inculcated by their teachers.
Green Land Convent School
Teacher’s Day was celebrated at the school, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana. School administration and teaching staff played different roles such as principal, supervisors and teachers of all subjects. Students were attired as their favourite teacher. A cultural show was also organised by the students to entertain their mentors. The Principal, Jyoti Pujara, congratulated the staff and urged them to be resourceful, updated and united for the welfare of their students, society and nation.
Garden Valley school
The Machhiwara-based school celebrated Teacher's Day and Teej festival. The function started with the speech of principal Harpreet Kaur Taneja. She shared her views on the day and appreciated the dedication of the school staff and also talked about the coming challenges in education. Students from junior wing presented a documentary describing the role of teachers in students’ academic growth not only in schools but in the college days as well.
Eastwood students shine
In categories U-14 and U-19 boys, Eastwood International School, Mullanpur, participated in the zonal-level football tournament. The tournament was held at Camp Khalsa Sen Sec School, Mohie. The U-19 boys team won the I position and U-14 boys team secured the II position in the tournament. The teams showcased their extreme talents and won the trophies. Principal Dr Bakshi focused on the importance of games and sports. She said games and sports are necessary for an overall development of a child. — TNS/OC
