Ludhiana, November 7
The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced December 15 as the date for the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) last week. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has also announced the same date for the CSIR UGC NET exam. Candidates, who want to appear for both exams, have now been left in a quandary.
Jashandeep Singh, a candidate, said the CSIR had announced December 15 as the exam date and the PSEB should have taken into consideration the dates for other exams before announcing the date for their exam. “I had already registered myself for the CSIR UGC NET but also wanted to appear for the PSTET exam, which now seems impossible,” he said.
Online registration for the CSIR UGC NET began on September 9 and is now closed while for the PTSET exam, it started on November 3 and will close on November 25. Admit cards for both will be available on December 9.
A senior educationist said the PSEB should reconsider the dates as the CSIR had already announced their date ahead of it.
