Fancy dress competition
Ludhiana: To inculcate moral values, respect towards society and dignity of labour, a fancy dress competition on the theme “Our Helpers” was organised for Montessori students at BBSB Convent School, Sidhwan Bet. They came dressed as doctors, nurses, fruits and vegetable sellers, sweepers, policemen, soldiers, gardeners etc. and spoke a few words on them. Students participated enthusiastically, which enhanced their confidence level and speaking skills
Activity Day
To help students shun stage fear and help them develop confidence for the overall development of their personality, Activity Day was observed especially for the tiny tots of Tagore Public School, Kindergarten section. Role Play was organised in which students from Nursery to Class II participated enthusiastically. The confidence they showed while performing specific roles like Aryabhatta, Narendra Modi, Rani Jhansi etc. mesmerised the audience and gave a tough time to judges, who amid cut-throat competition had to declare the winners.
Kabaddi champs
Students of Guru Gobind Singh Public School brought laurels to the school by bagging the National Style Kabaddi Tournament Title by beating teams from different schools of Ludhiana. The tournament was held in Atam Devki Jain Public School. They won first position both in the U-14 and U-17 category (boys).
Annual Day
NSP School, Isru, celebrated its annual day ‘Sargam 2018’ with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students were awarded with prizes for academic excellence and full attendance. Two students who got position in Class 10 (CBSE) class were awarded with Tablets. The main theme of the items were 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padaho', ‘Save trees and water' etc.
Mickey Mouse birthday
Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, celebrated the 90th birthday of Mickey Mouse with great zeal and enthusiasm in the Kindergarten wing. The school transformed the campus in sync with the theme. It was a delight to watch tiny tots in bright and colourful attries of their favourite cartoon characters like Micky Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Doremon among others. Excited faces were seen everywhere as kids posed for photographs.
Hawan for Class XI, XII students
Police DAV Public School, Police Lines, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organised a Hawan ceremony for the students of Classes XI-XII. The aim was to seek the blessings of the almighty for students to gain strength so that they can give their best in the upcoming board examination.
Athletics meet
Police DAV Public School, Police Lines, hosted Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex athletics meet. Almost 500 students from 16 different schools of Ludhiana participated in the events. Students were really excited about the event. The celebrations began with a lightening of the sports torch and flag hoisting ceremony. Students participated in a bevy of events including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m, short put, long jump, high jump and discus throw among others. Students displayed an array of colourful and reverberant events. They mesmerised the audience with their energetic performances.
Vedic Declamation
BCM School , Dugri, organised an Inter House Vedic Declamation. The event was organised by Ved Parchar Mandal. Each team had three speakers. The aim was to enhance the oratory skill of students. All participants expressed their views enthusiastically on different topics and left the audience mesmerised. The event came to an end with the prize distribution ceremony. Keshav from Pukhraj House, Gurmehak from Kohinoor House and Geetika from Pukhraj House bagged the first, second and third position, respectively.
Shabad Gayan contest
GGN Public School, Rose Garden, organised an Inter- School Shabad Gayan contest in memory of Giani Raghbir Singh, one of the founder members of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council, Ludhiana. Sukhwant Singh, Chairman Baba Sucha Singh, Gurmat Sangeet Academy, Jandiala Guru, Amritsar, was the chief guest. Ten teams of city-based schools participated. All participants rendered shabads based on the ragas as set in Sri Guru Granth Sahib and created the divine ambience.
