A delegation of the Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation (FICO), under the chairmanship of Chairman KK Seth and president Gurmeet Singh, met Amarjit Singh, new General Manager of the District Industries Centre (GM-DIC).
The major problems faced by the industry were discussed with the GM-DIC.
Association members discussed the problem of VAT refunds.
“VAT refund of the industry is pending with the government. Goods and Services Tax has been introduced, but VAT refunds have still not been cleared. The refunds should be released at the earliest,” said Kular.
“The Government of India has made the Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) necessary ID proof for the industry. But there is lack of awareness about its registration and codes among the industrialists. To facilitate the industry, the FICO will organise two camps in September for the Udyog Aadhaar registration. It will facilitate the members to get there Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum on the spot,” he said.
