Four held for 17-year-old boy’s murder

The city police claimed to have solved the murder case of a minor boy by arresting four persons.
The accused have been identified as Pappu, Rahul Kumar, Sanjay Verma of Subash Nagar and Anil Kumar of Kuldeep Nagar.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Sikand, ACP Lakhvir Singh Tiwana and SHO Rajwant Singh conducted a press conference and said one Sham Bahadur of Gaushala Road, and his son Sandeep Yadav went to Guru Nanak Nagar for some work on October 3. When they reached around 9.30 pm, the four accused, who were their relatives, were present there. They were, however, not on good terms. “When we were crossing a street, the accused stopped our way and started abusing us. When my son protested and asked them to stop abusing, they cornered him and thrashed him badly,” complainant Sham Bahadur said.
He said when he raised an alarm, the accused fled even took away the sticks and some sharp weapons along, which they used in attacking his son. Victim Sandeep was then rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. He suffered serious head injuries, due to which he breathed his last.
ADCP Sikand said the accused were standing at Basti Jodhewal Chowk on Saturday and the police party, after getting a tip-off, about their location, arrested them. They were waiting for an auto-rickshaw and were about to leave the city.
