Freedom fighters’ pictures installed at tehsil complex

Jagraon, November 27

The pictures of the freedom fighters from the Jagraon area, who played an important role in the freedom struggle of the country, were installed at the tehsil complex here today. A function was organised by the Freedom Fighters Successors Association Punjab at tehsil complex to mark the occasion.

Chief adviser to Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh, Lt-Gen (retired) Tejinder Singh Shergill, was the chief guest during the function. He inaugurated pictures of freedom fighters at the tehsil complex. A large number of family members of freedom fighters attended the function.

While speaking on the occasion, Shergill said, “We are enjoying the warmth of Independence due to freedom fighters. We all should always remember their sacrifices for the sake of our country.”

He appealed to the people to pay respect to successors of freedom fighters. He said the Chief Minister respected freedom fighters and members of the armed forces.

He also assured successors of freedom fighters to take up their demands with the Chief Minister and try to fulfil them.

The Freedom Fighters Successors Association Punjab chairman, Vishal Naiyar, Gurinder Singh Sidhu, Congress leader Major Singh Bhaini, Colonel (retd) Bhag Singh Tihara, Major (retd) Devi Dayal Sharma, Punjab Congress secretary Satinderpal Singh Grewal and other leaders were also present during the function.
