With nice packaging, premium look and imported tag, fruits have also become a ‘luxury’ gifting item during weddings, functions and celebrations. Such gift hampers have been put on display at Wedding Asia, the three-day exhibition that began on Friday.

Visitors at the stall titled “The Fruit Smith” said they never thought fresh fruits could be considered a gifting option. But with nice packaging, those looked a good option. “With such packaging, it can be interesting and a healthier gifting item also,” Diya, a visitor to the exhibition said.

A representative from the stall said it was a specially designed packaging which could preserve fruit without freezing for three-four days. He said the fruits, both fresh and sun-dried, could be used for gifting. To make sure that the fruits are considered as gifts for weddings and other functions, they import the best quality fruits directly from farmers and brands of foreign countries. The sun-dried fruits are without excessive sugar, and a little bit of it is added only for preservation purpose, he added.

Meanwhile, several fashion and lifestyle labels from across the country are participating in the exhibition. Several items, including wedding attires, new fashion wear collections and accessories, have been showcased.

The exhibition received a good footfall on the second day as well. Many of the fashion labels are participating for the first time. “We are participating in the exhibition for the first time. We have brought new wedding collections with phulkari, zardozi and gota patti,” said Ritika, from her fashion label “Aakriti by Ritika and Shakun”.

Several décor items, such as old gramophones and lamps, were also on display at the exhibition.
