Ludhiana: The students of Bajaj College organised a fresher’s party. Shikha Dhall, principal of the college, greeted the newest members of the college family and applauded their talented performances. Vanshika Saluja was accorded the title of ‘Ms Fresher’ and Dishant Chaudhary was declared as ‘Mr Fresher’. Gurjot Singh Grewal won the ‘Mr Best Dressed’ award and Harmandeep Kaur and Navkiran Kaur were declared ‘Ms Best Dressed’.
Party at LCET
Ludhiana College of Engineering & Technology, Katani Kalaian, organised a fresher’s party on its campus with pomp, fun and gaiety. Music, dance, ramp walk and various entertainment programs presented by the fresher students kept the audience enthralled. The burst of talent exhibited by Freshers was absolutely mesmerizing. The audience consisted of senior students, faculty, guests and parents spellbound throughout the programs. The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by a welcome song and performances by students on western dance, songs, fusion dance, giddha and skit which was followed by the first introductory round of the participants to the ‘Mr and Miss Fresher’ contest. Ekamjot was selected as ‘Mr Fresher’ and Shivani was crowned as ‘Ms Fresher.’
Legal awareness drive on cyber crime
Legal literacy club of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organised an awareness drive on Cyber Crime and Child Abuse today. The members of the club organised the drive in Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines, where they interacted with the students with the basic purpose of disseminating legal aid information to victims of sexual, physical, psychological and economic acts of violence as well as cyber crimes like cyber pornography, cyber stalking and cyber defamation. GCG celebrates Teacher’s Day
Teacher’s Day was celebrated in Government College for Girls on the birth anniversary of the former President, Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan. Flowers sticks were given to teachers by the students followed by a cake-cutting ceremony.
Workshop on facing interview at SACCM
The “Career Guidance and Placement Cell SACCM” under the guidance of Prof Jai Parkash and in association with organised a wsorkshop on ‘How to face Personal Interview’. The students thoroughly enjoyed the session. The speaker, Kapil Bhandari, focused on the importance of ‘Practical Intelligence’, which means how, when and where to use the intelligence and asked the students to use it to their advantage. Prof Jai Parkash said the students were delighted and were graceful in their feedback. They liked the simplicity of the methodology and were surprised as to how easily they can prepare an interview, if they focus on the right things. — TNS
