Fun with shapes
A mathematical activity “Fun with shapes” was organised at Bal Bharati Public School. Students were told about 3-D shapes, including cube, cuboid, cone, cylinder and sphere by depicting objects. The activity turned out to be extremely helpful in retaining this tricky concept. Punam Dogra, principal, appreciated the effort of the faculty and inspired them to continue organising such effective learning events in future as well.
Students bring laurels
The Ministry of Power organised a national campaign on ‘Energy Conservation 2018’. Four students of Guru Nanak International Public School were selected and participated in the state-level competition held at Panchkula. Jasleen Kaur of Class V won in category A along with a cash award of Rs 20,000 and Ravneet Kaur of Class VIII won the consolation and cash prize of Rs 5,000 in category B.
Rangoli contest held
GGN Public school, Rose Garden, organised a rangoli competition on Thursday. Students participated with gaiety. Kids made rangolis on vibrant themes, including music, dance, celebrations and festivities. The competition exhibited the hidden talent of students. Gunmeet Kaur, principal, appreciated the efforts of the budding artists and gave away certificates to the winners.
Talent hunt show
Students of MGM Public School celebrated Children’s Day with fun and fervour to mark the birth anniversary of Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru. The celebrations included talent hunt 2018 for students of Class III-V. Children showcased their talents in music, dance, mono-acting, magic-show and brain quiz among others.
Children’s Day celebrated
Green Valley Public School, Ahmedgarh, celebrated Children’s Day. Fancy dress competition was organised on the occasion. Yash Bhushan Gupta gave best wishes to all the students and staff.
Guru Nanak Public School
The entire premises of Guru Nanak Public School, Birmi, was decorated with slogans on Children’s Day. A PowerPoint Presentation was shown to students highlighting the importance of the day. Kids danced on foot-tapping numbers and enjoyed every moment. The headmistress of the school Dr Harjit Kaur Dua said celebrations of special days add liveliness to the daily routine of students.
Kids prove their mettle
Karate players of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, proved their mettle in the Punjab Board State Karate Tournament held recently at Amritsar. In U -17 (Boys), Rohit Mehra clinched the gold medal, in U-14 (Boys), Sameer Virdi and U-19 (Boys), Amzad won the bronze medals, respectively. Mehra also got selected for the Punjab School National Games to be held in December. The school principal Dr Jyoti Sachdev Pujara congratulated the winners.
Poetry competition organised
An inter-section poetry recitation competition was held at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, on Thursday . Students recited rhymes on the stage. Baldeep Pandher, principal, lauded the participants for their confidence and zeal. — TNS
