A locality like Sarabha Nagar is also not without garbage dumps. One of the dumps on Rotary Club Road has become an eyesore for patients coming to a hospital and students of schools, located nearby. Although residents living in the vicinity have been complaining about garbage dump, nothing has been done to remove it by the civic body. As no bins have been installed on the stretch it has turned into a big garbage dump.

A private hospital, government and two private schools are located near the dump. Many students use Rotary Club Road for coming to their schools. The place stinks as garbage is not lifted from here by the Municipal Corporation (MC) every day.

Jaswinder Kaur, a patient, who visits a nearby hospital daily for her physiotherapy, said, “It is difficult to pass from this road. Hospital is located at a short distance from here. Nobody seems to be concerned to keep the stretch clean. It seems that the place invites diseases,” she said.

“Over the years I have seen this corner on Rotary Club Road turning into a bigger and bigger garbage dump. Many schools are located nearby and then there is a hospital also. But, nobody seems to be bothered in keeping the place clean,” said Santosh Sharma, a parent, who was coming back after dropping his child at school.

Not only passersby, residents living nearby, too, are also facing inconvenience due to the garbage dump.

Another resident of the PSPCL Colony on Rotary Club Road, said, “It becomes difficult to pass from this stretch as the place is full of garbage. Cows and dogs can be seen gorging on leftovers in the garbage. It has become a breeding ground for flies and mosquitoes. Things become difficult during rains and summers as the smell emanating from the dump becomes unbearable,” she said.
