Garcha wins silver in skeet shooting

LUDHIANA: Ludhiana city-based Gurnihal Singh Garcha, a skeet shooter, added another feather to his cap by winning a silver medal in the 11th International Junior Shotgun Cup-2019 held at Salola Ranges in Orimattila, Finland.

Ludhiana, June 13

Ludhiana city-based Gurnihal Singh Garcha, a skeet shooter, added another feather to his cap by winning a silver medal in the 11th International Junior Shotgun Cup-2019 held at Salola Ranges in Orimattila, Finland. He scored 118 out of 125.

Indian squad comprising Garcha, Ayush Rudra Raju and Abhey Sekhon also bagged the second position and won a silver medal.

Garcha, who has been pursuing law at Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, has already won medals at the national and international-level shooting championships. He had won a gold medal in the 62nd National Shooting Championship held at Jaipur last year. He had also clinched a gold medal in the team event as well. He had set a new record with 56 hits out of 60 in the junior section. He won a bronze medal in the individual event in the World Skeet Shooting Championship held at South Korea, besides securing a silver medal in the World Cup Shooting Competition.
