Ludhiana: Students of GMT Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, brought laurels to the school with their performance in the Basketball Championship in which several school teams had participated. The under-17(boys) final round was played between Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. Amanpreet, Gurjashan, Dilpreet, Dhruv, Shivam and Ajhar won the final match. The under-19 (boys) match was played between Punjab and Tamil Nadu. Dheeraj, Prashant and Inderjot showed their talent with outstanding performances and won the winners' trophy. Principal Jasbir Kaur Bal felicitated students efforts, encouraging them to participate in upcoming events. TNS

Swami Ganga Giri College 

Ludhiana: Dilpreet Kaur, a BBA-III student of Swami Ganga Giri Girls College, Raikot, has brought laurels to the college by securing ninth position in Panjab University. The College management, led by president of the college Ramesh Kaura and general secretary Rajinder Kaura, felicitated the achiever.

Devki Devi Jain Memorial 

Nisha Yadav and Ruby Jain of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women brought laurels to the college by secured third and seventh position, respectively, in of BBA (Semester VI) examination  conducted by Panjab University. Nisha Yadav bagged first position in the district by securing 80.41 per cent marks. Ruby Jain (79.56 per cent) was fourth in the district. The pass percentage of students was 100.

Campus placement drive

A campus placement drive was organised at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines, by placement cell of the institute today in which eight companies participated. A total of 21 final-year students of MBA, BBA and BCom (hons) were shortlisted and 30 were offered internships. Principal Harpreet Singh and Director Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra congratulated the students.

Death anniversary observed                                    

SDP College for Women observed the 20th death anniversary of freedom fighter Om Parkash Gupta, ex-MLA, Ludhiana East. The college paid tribute to the freedom fighter by garlanding his statue. Om Parkash Gupta was an altruist. His selfless service has been well recognised in the history of the SDP institutions. He devoted his entire life to the dissemination of education and reformation of depressed sections of society.

PCTE students shine 

The students of BSc (Airlines Tourism and Hospitality Management) of the PCTE Group of Institutes have brought laurels to the college by bagging top university positions in Punjab Technical University examinations merit list. In BSc (ATHM) Semester VI, Abhey Rana, Aditi Asotra, Ali Nahil, Aman Ahmed Shubhneet Kaur, Tandin Wangmo, Trashi Lhaden and Tshewang Lhamo stood first with 10 SGPA, followed by Dechen Choki, Geeta Rani, Harjot Singh, Kajal Arora, Karma Tenzin, Kinley Zangmo Norbu Dema, Rohit, Sahil Thakur, Sangay Zangmo and Ajay Kumar Dhingra with 9.00 SGPA. In Sem-VI, Sangay Choden bagged fourth position with 9.00 SGPA, followed by Jaskaran Kaur and Sandeep Singh with 8.4 SGPA. TNS
