Ludhiana: Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, which was previously graded A++ by International Rating Agency ONICRA, has now been graded AA+ and ranked 83. This ranking was based on ‘students’ quality, ‘faculty quality’, ‘learning padagogy’, ‘placement’, ‘research output’ and ‘alumni’. The short listing was done in various stages. At the first stage 3,100 institutes were shortlisted on the basis of above criteria, out of which 285 institutes were finalised on the basis of detailed research methodology/ranking. The top-100 ‘Best B Schools’ were thus selected in which Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology ranked 83rd. The other top business schools from Punjab that are graded and included in the India’s best 100 business schools are Thapar Unviersity Business School, Chandigarh University Business School and IIM Amritsar. The Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology is the only institute from IK Gujral Punjab Technical University that has achieved this position in the India’s best 100 B.
NSS camp
The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women, Sidhwan Khurd (Ludhiana), is organising a seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) Camp in the college , which started from Wednesday. The theme of the camp is “Healthy youth, healthy India”. College principal Baljeet Kaur Gill inaugurated the camp with lamp lightening ceremony and motivated the National Service Scheme volunteers to participate in the movement with full zeal and enthusiasm. The BEd and MEd students of the college are taking part in the camp under the guidance of the National Service Scheme coordinators Dr Rajni Bala and Dr Aman Dhillon. A cleanliness drive was also carried out on the college campus.
PEC signs MoU with ESRI
Punjab Engineering College (PEC) signs a memorandum of understanding with the ESRI India, which is a leader in the field, to disseminate the information and awareness about GIS/remote sensing and digital mapping. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Prof Manoj K Arora (Director, Punjab Engineering College) and Agendra Kumar (President, ESRI India) at Punjab Engineering College. The aim of the memorandum of understanding is to give support to various government programmes such as smart cities, digital India and clean Ganga. Apart from project and consultancy, this collaboration will work towards capacity building for the geospatial technology. This collaboration also supports the vision and mission of Punjab Engineering College to become centre of excellence in technical education and research and to occupy a place among the most eminent institutions of the nation. “The future lies in the study of geospatial data and due to unavailability of the expertise in the relevant field, the need of such a centre becomes all the more significant” said Dr Manoj K Arora, Director, Punjab Engineering College. — TNS
