GNKCW meet: Juhi adjudged best athlete

A student of BA (third year), Juhi Gupta, was adjudged the best athlete while a BCom (third year) student, Diksha Kaushal, was declared the second best athlete in the Annual Athletics Meet 2017-18 of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women (GNKCW), Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, today.

The chief guest on the occasion was the ADCP, Gurpreet Purewal. The Principal, Manjit Kaur Ghuman, highlighted achievements of college students. The college governing body general secretary, Gurvinder Singh, congratulated winners. — OSC

• 800-metre race: 1st Jassi Kaur, 2nd Meenu and 3rd Prabhjot Kaur.
• Long jump: 1st Poonam Rani, 2nd Diksha and 3rd Ramandeep Kaur.
• Javelin throw: 1st Ramandeep Kaur, 2nd Juhi Gupta and 3rd Arshpreet Kaur.
• Discus throw: 1st Yashika, 2nd Manjit Kaur and 3rd Poonam Rani.
• Shot put: 1st Manjot Kaur, 2nd Juhi Gupta and 3rd Ashima Sharma.
• Chatti race: 1st Arshdeep Kaur, 2nd Navdeep Kaur and 3rd Ramandeep Kaur.
• 200-metre race: 1st Juhi Gupta, 2nd Meenu and 3rd Diksha.
• Three-legged race: 1st Asha and Nidhi, 2nd Prabhjot Kaur and Rajvinder Kaur, 3rd Sheetal and Sandhya.
• Sack race: 1st Monika, 2nd Basant and 3rd Kanika.
• 400-metre: 1st Arti Gupta, 2nd Diksha Kaushal and 3rd Juhi Gupta.
• Spoon and potato race: 1st Arshdeep Kaur, 2nd Neha and 3rd Anchal.
• Rope skipping race: 1st Manjeet Kaur, 2nd Harleen Kaur and Heena Maan.
• 100-metre race: 1st Arshdeep Kaur, 2nd Jasdeep Kaur and 3rd Jasmeet Kaur.
• Tug-of-war: 1st BCA third year of the college.
