With the aim to give a fresh look to the Ludhiana railway station, the railway authorities have been planning to carry out graffiti work at the station with the help of an NGO. The graffiti would be painted at foot over-bridge connecting various platforms, toilets and boundary walls of the railway station.

A city-based organisation is in process of seeking required permission from the authorities to paint graffiti at the railway station. The painting work is expected to commence within couple of days. Under this project, traditional arts of Punjab and colourful images would be painted.

Earlier too, the railway authorities had carried out graffiti works at the railway station, but these were marred by stains within a few months. Ludhiana Railway Station Director Abhinav Singla confirmed that graffiti work would be carried out at the railway station.

“To increase the beautification of the railway station, an organisation is going to carry out the graffiti work on the railway station premises. The graffiti would be painted at foot over-bridge, boundary walls and toilets of the railway station and the work will start within couple of days,” informed Singla.

The passengers have also welcomed the move saying it would help enhancing the beauty of the railway station. “The graffiti painted earlier has been marred by stains of paan and dirt. The graffiti paintings will provide a new look to the railway station. I urge the passengers visiting the railway station as well as the railway authorities to maintain the beauty of new graffiti,” said Gaurav, a frequent traveller.
