Ludhiana: St Soldier Divine Public School, Golf Link, Hambran Road, celebrated Grandparents Day to express love and affection for grandparents. All grandparents were given a floral welcome by Principal Dinesh Malik. Students of kindergarten welcomed their grandparents with roses. The programme commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a collection of vandana recitation.

Green Land students bring laurels

Kavita Rana, student of Class X at Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, has brought laurels to the school by clinching the first runner-up position in the Punjab Board district-level volleyball tournament held at Government School, Govind Nagar, Ludhiana. Rajesh Rudhra, chairman, chain of Green Land Schools, congratulated her.

Celebrating the colour orange 

Ryan International School, Dugri, organised an orange day. Clad in orange dresses, students were made to recognise the colour orange through various games and activities. Principal said early identification of colours helped children to create cognitive link between visual clues and words which was an important part of a child’s development.

Reading week observed

DCM Presidency School, elementary campus, observed reading week from September 9 to 16 for the students of nursery to Class I with the aim to encourage reading among them. Various reading and fine art activities were conducted on the school campus. TNS
