In wake of the forthcoming launch of goods and services tax (GST) in India on July 1, business software provider Tally Solutions announced “Tally.ERP 9 Release 6” with its launch in the city today. It is GST ready accounting and compliance software.

“The product aims to help business owners get GST ready from Day 1 with its simplicity, fast speed and pin-point accuracy,” claims the company. The product will be free for existing customers with a valid subscription.

It means that over 5 lakh businesses in India will be GST ready at no cost. For new users, the cost will be Rs 18,000 + applicable taxes for a single user edition and Rs 54,000 + applicable taxes for an unlimited multi-user edition (same as current rates).

Speaking at the launch event, Tejas Goenka, executive director, Tally Solutions, said, “Ludhiana is an established hub for small and medium businesses in India. Ludhiana was chosen to launch our software because we believe that the heart of small businesses in India lies in such cities.” He said, “With Tally ERP.9 Release 6, it is our commitment to make the transition to and compliance with GST hassle-free and simple for all businesses.”

“The product itself is easy to set up and quick in enabling GST invoicing, printing and filing. Besides, unique error prevention, detection and correction capabilities ensure accurate invoices and returns thereby offering our user peace of mind,” he added.
