A gurdwara at GK Estate colony in Mundian here today has been thrown open to public ahead of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji. In a function organised at this occasion, SAD legislator from Sahnewal and former Cabinet minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today dedicated the newly built gurdwara to ‘sangat’ and lauded the gesture of goodwill from GK Group managing director Gulshan Kumar.
Renowned GK Group had donated a land for the construction of a gurdwara in its colony in Mundian here. Speaking at the occasion, Gulshan Kumar reiterated his commitment to the ideals of Sri Guru Nanak Dev and expressed confidence that the place of worship constructed in the colony would lead to further strengthening of communal brotherhood and peaceful co-existence of residents, irrespective of their religion, caste and creed.
A nagar kirtan was taken out by the residents to mark the completion of the gurdwara and celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev. Gulshan Kumar felicitated the ‘panj piyaras’ with ‘siropa sahib’ who led the nagar kirtan.
Among others, Sher Singh, Sikander Singh, Narinder Singh, RS Brar, Gurmit Singh Mundian, Neeraj GK, Sarbjit GK, Sukhwinder Singh Sidhu GK and members of the Sheetala Mata Mandir Committee, GK Estate, were also present.
Nagar kirtan held by Khamano Singh Sabha
Samrala: A nagar kirtan attributed to the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev was organised by Gurdwara Sahib Singh Sabha, Bilaspur Road, Khamano. It was led by Panj Piara’s and Guru Granth Sahib Bir that was kept in a palki saheb. A kirtani jatha led by Baba Mangal Singh performed a kirtan. It was welcomed at a number of places by devotees and langar was also served. At Khamano Mele Wali, the nagar kirtan was welcomed and given siropas by the Gurdwara Sahib Committee local President Randhir Singh Billu and others. The organisers of the nagar kirtan Giani Gurmel Singh, retired deputy director Dilbara Singh, Madan Singh, Retired Commandant Pritam Singh Bajwa and others thanked all for participating in the nagar kirtan.
