The Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Vocational Studies organised an industrial visit for BSc (IT) students to Eminence Technology, Mohali. The Be-Digital club of BSc (IT) students undertook this journey to attain valuable information of internet marketing, web development and web designing. Students came up with innovative ideas of digital expansion.

Teacher’s Day celebrated

On the occasion of Teacher’s Day and commencement of new academic session a hawan was perfomed at the BCM College of Education. Dignitaries, including Samita Munjal, from BCM management, Dr Vandana Shahi, Principal, BCM Senior Secondary School, Dugri, JP Singh, Principal, BCM Senior Secondary School, Basant City, DP Gulleria, Principal, BCM Senior Secondary School, Sector 32, Chandigarh Road, SK Mehta, Secretary, BCM College, paid tributes to Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.

Sidhwan students prove their mettle

Students of Arts stream at the Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, proved their mettle in semester exams. In BA first year, second semester, Rachhpal Kaur stood first by obtaining 77.93 per cent, Muskan stood second by scoring 77.25 per cent and Harpreet Kaur ranked third with 77.01 per cent. Officiating Principal Prof Gurinder Kaur Sandhu congratulated the toppers for their hard work and wished them luck in future endevaours.

Panjab University position holders

Students of the Bajaj College achieved excellent results in BSc (fashion designing) second semester conducted by Panjab University. Anjali Saggar stood third in the varsity and first in the college by obtaining 89.9 per cent. Jaisneet Kaur stood second with 88.3 per cent. Tavleen Kaur ranked third in the college with 88.1 per cent. Principal Dr Shikha Dhall congratulated the students and teaching faculty.

Student wins gold in archery

A student of the GHG Khalsa Collegiate Senior Secondary School, Vardaan Gupta, won a gold medal in archery at the Punjab State School Games held at the GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar. Gupta, a class XI student won a gold medal in the U-19 recurve category. Manjit Singh Gill, president, college governing council, Lt Gen Iqbal Singh Singha (retd), Director, Dr HS Brar, college registrar, and Dr SS Deol, principal congratulated Gupta. The management also hailed efforts of Prof Tejinder Singh, head, Department of Physical Education and coach Bhagwati Lal Grashia.

KCW students excel in university exams

The Khalsa College for Women achieved outstanding results in MA second semester exams conducted by the Panjab University. Arshdeep Kaur stood third in the university by scoring 88.25 per cent. Kiran ranked fourth in the varsity with 87.5 per cent. Meenu stood fifth with 86.7 per cent and Madhurya Jain attained eighth rank after scoring 85.5 per cent.
