Ludhiana: The pre-primary wing of Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, organised an inter-section English declamation for the students of Class II. Topics included, Sweet words pay enough but cost nothing, Diligence is a mother to success, Importance of sports, Don’t judge a book by its cover, best pet, etc. Two students from each section took part with zeal and enthusiasm. Students spoke with grace and confidence. Principal Gurmant Kaur Gill congratulated and gave away the certificates to the winners. She advised them to participate in such type of activities as these activities help students to build confidence and hone their oratory skills.
Student selected for national meet
Trimanpreet Kaur, a student of Class VIII at Spring Dale School has been selected for the 64th National-Level Handball Championship to be held at Siddipet, Telangana, in the Under-17 category. After giving a tough competition to her competitors in the state-level tourney, she will now participate at the nationals. Managing director Avinash Kaur Walia congratulated and extended best wishes to her.
Sports day
GGN Public School, Rose Garden, celebrated Sports Day for the pre-primary wing. The tiny tots from Nursery, LKG and UKG participated in the sports extravaganza. The day started with the recital of shabad, seeking the blessings and grace of the Almighty. The budding athletes enthralled the audience with their fun-filled races such as butterfly race, Tarzan race, hurdle race, birthday party race etc. The scintillating dance performance by kids energised the entire atmosphere. Principal Gunmeet Kaur lauded the performance of the kids and said such events rejuvenate them, help learn sportsmanship along with building motor co-ordination skills, giving the opportunity to the little angels to display their self-confidence, zeal and leadership qualities.
Sukhmani sahib path
To seek blessings for the coming year, a path of Shri Sukhmani Sahib was held at Police DAV Public School. All staff members along with the Principal attended the path. The school prayed for the bright future of its students and to wish prosperity for all in the coming years. Everybody had the kadah prasad after the path.
English declamation
To hone the oratory skills of students, an inter-house English declamation was held at Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park. As many as 12 students from Class VI to VIII representing all four houses participated. They expressed their views on topics such as ‘Where wealth accumulates men decay’, ‘side effects of social media’, ‘Absolute power corrupts absolutely’, ‘Bullying a cause of concern’, ‘Need of discipline in oneself’, ‘Being loud is not being heard’ and ‘Preserving environment is everyone’s duty’. Congratulating all students, Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich said: “This is the right age when you can polish your hidden talents by participating in different activities other than academics. You should participate more and more for the overall development of your personality.”
Alphabet day
St Soldier Divine Public School, Golf Link, Hambran Road, conducted ‘alphabet day’ for students of the Kindergarten wing. Kids came dressed in their colourful costumes representing one of the letters and spoke confidently about that alphabet. They were thrilled and excited when they replicated many characters, fruits and personalities of alphabet they were depicting on the stage. There was a lot of enthusiasm and excitement as the little ones walked forward displaying their vibrant costumes. They spoke a few sentences on the character that they depicted and some of them tried to truly imitate the same. — TNS
