Ludhiana, April 29
The Court of Special Judge Rashmi Sharma today heard the arguments advanced by two defence lawyers against framing charges, terming their clients to be innocent, in the infamous gangrape case of 21-year-old girl near Issewal village.
After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned the case to May 6, reserving order on framing charges.
Yesterday, the local police registered an FIR against a person for allegedly pressuring the victim’s family for striking a compromise.
All accused — Sadiq Ali of Mukandpur, Nawanshahr, Jagroop Singh, alias Rupi of Jaspal Bangar village, Surmo of Khanpur village, Dehlon, Saif Ali of Dehlon and Ajay, alias Lalan of Jassad Paddi village, Ludhiana — were present during the court hearing.
