Jaspreet, Umar fastest runners
Ludhiana, March 15
Jaspreet Kaur of GNM (first year) and Umar Ahad Butt of BSc (Nursing-first year) finished ahead of others in the 100 metre sprint and emerged as fastest runners in the girl’s and boy’s categories, respectively, in the Fifth Annual Athletics Meet of Nightingale College of Nursing, Narangwal, near here today.
Veer Chakra Awardee, and district head, governance, Col HS Kahlon, along with the Dehlon police station SHO, Inspector Kanwaljeet Singh, declared the meet open.
Techi Rana, Rai Bahadur Singh, Navdeep Kaur and Navjot Kaur carried the games torch before igniting the cauldron.
The college director, Dr Sarbjit Singh, welcomed the guests. The college Principal, Prof GK Walia, motivated students towards games to lead a healthy life.
Representatives of the Grewal Sports Association, Narangwal besides other prominent persons of the area were present on the occasion.
