Arjan Singh Cheema (in pic), a student of Class XII at Om Parkash Bansal Model School, Mandi Gobindgarh, won a gold in the 50-metre free pistol and a team gold medal in free pistol event with Gourav Rana and Anmol Jain on the first day of the 52nd ISSF World Championship underway in South Korea.

Arjan shot a score of 559 and won gold in the individual event, while later, he along with his team members scored 1659 to win gold in the team event. Arjan’s uncle DSP (I), Khanna, Jagwinder Singh Cheema, father Sunny Cheema and uncle Harpreet Singh Prince have expressed happiness about his win and sent wishes to him to achieve more heights in his carrier.— OC
