Tiny tots walk the ramp 

Green Land Convent School, Chandigarh Road, organised a ramp walk for tiny tots. They walked the ramp with their toys. Principal Vinita Sanan said all kids needed a little love and support to cherish every moment of their life and the school always made an effort to do so.

Career counselling workshop

Ryan International School, Jamalpur, organised a career counselling session by IDP Education Private Limited. The spokespersons guided students about opportunities in Canada, Australia, the US and New Zealand. They also familiarised students with the requirements, eligibility and financial aspect of studying overseas. Students were informed about various options available in the field of non-medical, medical, commerce and humanities.

BCM hosts qawwali contest

The Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex (LSSC) qawwali contest was hosted by BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar. As many as 20 teams from schools across the city participated in the contest. The performance of students featured various genres of qawwali. The melody of participants mesmerised the audience.

Poetry recitation competition 

An inter-section poetry-recitation competition for students of Class VI-VII on the life and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev was organised during the on-going 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev at Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bypass. Students were judged on the parameters of confidence, pronunciation, content and voice modulation.

GNPS students bring laurels

Students of Guru Nanak Public School, Mullanpur, brought laurels to the school by winning multiple positions in an art competition held at MLD Senior Secondary School, Talwandi Kalan, Jagraon. Navleen Kaur of Class XII got first prize in woodslice-making competition while Jaskirat Singh of Class IV got second prize in clay modelling competition. Principal Ravi Kant congratulated the students for their outstanding performance.

Skype session with Nigerian school

Crossing international boundaries, BCM School, Chandigarh Road, had a Skype meeting with Imaad School, Nigeria, BCM’s partner school. Students of Class IX and X interacted with their peers in Nigeria about the political system in India and Nigeria. The Skype session provided a platform to students to know about political parties, election process, government functioning and its welfare policies of Nigeria. It gave them a chance to widen their horizons and develope a sense of internationalism through school curriculum.

Science exhibition begins at DAV

DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, organised Jigyasa, an annual science exhibition. The exhibition was a panorama of several creative science projects displayed by around 350 students. The event was also attended by SS Johl, Chancellor, Central University, Bathinda, and vice-chairman of DAV Public School. Working and non-working science models on energy conservation, robotics, DNA structure, and computational physics grabbed huge appreciation.

Session on career guidance

BVM Senior Secondary School, Sector-39, organised a career counselling session for students of Class XII science and commerce stream. Students were guided in detail about field of specialisation in science and commerce. Students were given an insight into various techniques related to the improvement in personalities and values to become learners and leaders. Principal Upasna Modgil directed students to be a true master of their own future by inspecting and improving their lackings and qualities. TNS
