Guru Ravidas Jayanti was celebrated in the town and surrounding localities here today.
Functions were held at Gurdwara Bhagat Ravidas on Jandali Road and Dhulkot Road, Amarpura, Jagera Road, Jandali Kalan, Jandali Khurad, Bathan, Dehlon and Kanganwal villages.
‘Akhand path’, ‘kirtans’ and langar were organised at various gurdwaras in the region.
Recitation of poems and lectures on the life and philosophy of Guru Ravidass marked the functions. ‘Shabad Gayan’ contests were held for schoolchildren and outstanding performers were felicitated.
