Maid decamps with Rs 31,000 from trader’s house

A maid, employed a few days ago, has allegedly decamped with Rs 31,000 from the house of a local trader. The police have registered a case against the woman, identified as Sudhira Devi, a resident of Mukandpuri area, New Delhi.

In his complaint to the police, Naval Jain of Civil Lines here stated that he had employed a woman as maid at his house a few days ago. She had worked at his house for only three days and then went missing. When the house owner checked his cash, he was shocked to find that Rs 31,000 kept in an almirah was missing.

The investigating officer, ASI Avtar Singh, said a case had been registered against Sudhira Devi under Sections 381 and 457 of the IPC on a complaint of Naval Jain. “The woman suspect has absconded and the police have been searching for her. She would be arrested soon,” said the ASI.
