Ludhiana, August 31
Judicial Magistrate Etu Sodhi adjourned the defamation case filed by former revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia against AAP leader Sanjay Singh (Rajya Sabha MP) till September 11.
No witness from Majithia side was present in the court for cross examination.
During the last hearing, former Akali MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali, a witness of Bikram Majithia, was cross examined by Ferry Sofat and Satbir Singh Walia, lawyers representing accused Sanjay Singh.
In his complaint, Majithia had alleged that Sanjay Singh made a false and defamatory statement against him at a rally in Moga on September 9, 2015.
It was alleged that he did not stop here but launched a fallacious campaign in order to defame and discredit the complaint. He claimed that he was unnecessarily being portrayed to be associated with drug racketeers. — TNS
