Despite false rumours about ill effects, measle-rubella eradication drive is picking up, said the Senior Medical Officer of ESI Hospital-7, Shimlapuri, Dr Kiran Gill.
“People are coming forward for measle-rubella vaccination for the safety of their children,” said Dr Kiran Gill.
Dr Gill emphasised that due to proper awareness lectures, parents realised that rumours about ‘Measle Rubella Eradication Drive’ are false and the children should be safely vaccinated against these two dreadful diseases.
Vaccination went smoothly at Teja Singh Swatantar Memorial Senior Secondary School, Shimlapuri. Principal, Harjit Kaur, and their teachers said parents were coming forward themselves for getting their children vaccinated.
Dr Kiran Gill said every child from nine months to 15 years of age has to be given this vaccine to eradicate these two diseases from our country.
