PAU student to visit US for 10 weeks as scholar

Heena Puri, an MSc student, from the Department of Entomology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, has been selected for the Khorana Programme for Scholars, 2018. This programme is sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and Winstep Forward.

The aim of Khorana Program is to foster dynamic and transformative student exchange between premier institutes of India and United States of America (USA). Under the programme, Heena will be visiting Pennsylvania State University, PA, USA, and work in the laboratory of Prof Jason L Rasgon for a period of 10 weeks from May 21 to July 31. During her stay at USA, she will work on novel techniques RNAi, CRISPR-cas9, in mosquitoes and whitefly.
