Ludhiana, September 22

Alleging that the Congress leadership has been sheltering accused party councillor Gurdeep Singh Neetu in Rinkal Khera’s murder case, deceased’s brother Mani Khera said they would start burning effigies of the Congress leaders from September 23.

Mani added that on Sunday he would burn effigy of the Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu and MLA Sanjay Talwar. He accused the Congress leaders of forcing the police to go soft on Neetu, who was also booked in the murder case.

Recently, Mani had issued a statement in which he demanded that the Congress should sack the membership of Neetu before September 15. It is pertinent to mention that the CI had nabbed three gangsters, including Gurmeet Singh alias Budhu Lohara (36), Manmeet Singh alias Mani Falora (26) and Bhupinder Singh alias Binda Jandaur (34). Neetu’s son Jatinderpal Singh Sunny had also surrendered before the police. —TNS
