7-day NSS camp concludes at Doraha College of Education

Seven-day NSS camp, which was underway at Doraha College of Education since January concluded successfully today. The camp which was held with the theme ‘Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat’ was attended by 90 volunteers.
On the closing day, Gaurav Soni, Tehsil Welfare Officer, was the chief guest. The volunteers presented the cultural extravaganza, including skits, folk songs, giddha to mark the valedictory ceremony of the camp.
Gaurav Kumar, programme officer of the seven-day camp, presented a comprehensive report of the activities undertaken during the seven days, which included cleanliness campaign, tree plantation, donations, medical check up camp, extension lecture, workshops and competitions.
The volunteers were awarded prizes for their performances in various activities. Gayatri, Harman and Sandeep from B Ed 2nd year were awarded for poster-making competitions. Jasmeen Kaur was adjudged the best NSS volunteer, whereas the mess committee was adjudged the best committee. Gaganpreet Kaur Jhajj and Devinder Kaur were awarded for excellence in coordination, Pawandeep was awarded for appreciable work in the cultural committee, while Gursimran was awarded for photography committee. Devinder Singh and Pawanpreet were awarded for their contribution to Mess Committee.
Principal Dr Sandeep Sawhney said, “Such camps are required to bring an attitudinal shift in students and a change in the mindset of society.”
