Helpline to take faulty street light complaints

A complaint cell has been set up to deal with complaints related to non-functional LED street lights in the city. The residents can file their complaints at number 1800-121-484848.

Many councillors and MLAs had been complaining about the non-functional LED street lights in the city for the past several days. The LED street lights are being installed under the Smart City Mission.

Executive Engineer Balwinder Singh said the residents could file their complaints from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Earlier, MLAs Sanjay Talwar and Surinder Dawar had raised the matter with the civic body authorities.

Ludhiana East MLA Sanjay Talwar said many LED street lights had stopped functioning a day after their installation. Expressing dissatisfaction over the company’s work, Talwar said the company did not have adequate staff to ensure the maintenance of the street lights.
