Chandigarh, November 26
The Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi (CSNA) honoured achievers of Panjab University Youth Festival -2019 in CSNA Yuva Pratibha Utsav at the Tagore Theatre today.
The programme commenced with Kamal Arora, chairman, welcoming the chief guest Prof Karamjit Singh, Registrar, Panjab University, Nirmal Jaura and Tejinder of Youth Welfare Department, PU, for lighting the lamp before student artistes took the centre stage to showcase their winning performances.
A play ‘Mujhe Pankh De Do’ which impressed the most was based on Russian author Chingiz Aitmatov's Russian novel "The First Teacher", which has been adapted by playwright director Sangeeta Gupta with certain aberrations.
The poignant play dealt with multiple social evils, including child marriage, polygamy and right of education to girls. — OC
