Ludhiana: The PCTE has been ranked 10th best B-School in the country on return on investment (ROI) criterion and 31st best B-School among private colleges of the country in the survey conducted by Outlook. ROI was calculated as the ratio of average domestic salary with the fee paid by student. PCTE has been ranked overall 49th best B-school of the country. Outlook conducted B- school survey on different performance criterion such as selection process, personality development, academic excellence, infrastructure and placements. On personality development criterion, PCTE has been ranked 25th in the country. In infrastructure and facilities it was ranked 31st. Dr KNS Kang , Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes, congratulated the students, faculty and staff for their sincere and committed efforts.
Workshop on entrepreneurship
The PG department of commerce and management at Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women organised a two-day workshop on entrepreneurship awareness program (EAP) at the college. It was held in collaboration with Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED) on behalf of the Department of Science and Technology, government of India in association with V-mad to create awareness among students about alternative career options and make them familiar with the availability of various support systems, schemes and incentives to start small-scale units for self-employment. Baljeet Kaur, co-ordinator RCED, chaired the technical session-I on the first day. She exhorted girls to be self-reliant financially and not only earn money, but self-respect as well. In technical session-II, Prof Parvinder Singh, trainer of marketing skills, acquainted students with various marketing skills required for start-ups. The tchnical session-III was headed by SS Raikhy, operational manager, DIC, who apprised students about various government schemes available for SSI units.
KCW girl shines in PU exam
Talwinder Kaur, student of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, came third in MA-history semester examination of the Panjab University. She secured 74.06 per cent marks. Principal Dr Mukti Gill congratulated her and lauded the efforts of the history department.
NSS Day observed
The NSS unit of Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, celebrated NSS day. Amandeep Kaur of MA-I (English) enlightened students about the history, aims and benefits of the NSS. Programme officers motivated volunteers to inculcate a feeling of service towards the society and work for the underprivileged sections. The Principal suggested some practical measures which students can adopt in their daily life to fight social evils and serve their country. She encouraged volunteers to participate in the upcoming NSS camp.
GHG College shines in sports
Gagandeep and Sukhdev of GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar won bronze medal each in the 57kg and 69kg weight categories, respectively, in the recently held WAKO India Senior National Kickboxing Championship (men and women) 2017-18 organised by Chhatisgarh Kickboxing Association at Raipur. Principal Dr Swaranjeet Singh Deol congratulated the winner as well as the faculty members of the sports department and lauded them for their dedicated efforts.
Food festival at GGNIMT
International Food Festival kicked off at GGN Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT) on World Tourism Day, where dignitaries, including hotel management professionals and educationists from all over Punjab, were attracted to excellent food and drink offerings. Students of Bachelor of Management Studies (Hotel Management and Catering Technology) prepared and presented a variety of international cuisines to sample a few culinary delights.
