People apprised of hepatitis, dengue

Social activists of various organisations spread awareness about causes and consequences of dreaded diseases including gastroenteritis, hepatitis and dengue.
An oath was taken during a seminar organised at Kup Kalan village by the local unit of Rotary Club under supervision of Ahmedgarh SDM Dr Preet Yadav.
Dr Sunit Hind, Dr Ravinder Sharma and Dr Punit Dhawan, senior functionaries of the host club presided over various session.
Dr Nirmal Singh Malhi; head of the Gastroenterology Department SPS Hospital, Ludhiana; Dr Amit Soni, consultant gastroenterologist and Dr Vikram Jit Sandhu, senior consultant, highlighted causes and consequences of gastroenterology, hepatitis and dengue respectively.
While elaborating symptoms, prevention, treatment and prognosis of various diseases, the speakers including, Malhi, Soni and Sandhu claimed that the menace of the dreaded diseases could be minimised by educating masses about the effect of lifestyle and lack of knowledge about the balanced diet. — OC
