LUDHIANA: The training and placement cell of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town organised a placement drive in collaboration with Om Careers, Ludhiana. The company is currently hiring talent for big corporate houses. The placement procedure which was divided in two rounds – group discussion and personal interview.
Street play on road safety
A team of 12 students from Bajaj College performed a street play on the theme of Traffic Awareness on the second day of National Road Safety Week, which was organised by Honda collaborations along with the traffic police Ludhiana. The act was exhibited at Children Traffic Training Park, Model Town. Students who participated in it were Atul Sharma, Mamta Thapar, Sukhwinder Singh, Sagar Chadha, Bhavika Jain, Avneet Kaur Hunjan, Neha Devakar, Deepali Garg, Abhinav Chopra, Yukta Nayyar, Shivani Gupta and Jaspreet Singh. The street play was directed by Imran Athar. Road safety has become a major concern and also the most negligent one. It is very important that the youth realise the importance of safe driving and safe walking on the roads to avoid unnecessary accidents.
Lecture on Angiosperms
The Botany Department of SCD Government College organised an Extension lecture on the topic Angiosperms for the benefit of B Sc (Medical) students of the college. The head of the department Amarjeet Kaur warmly welcomed the resource person Dr Mohinder K Grewal, retired principal of GCG. In her inaugural talk, Dr Mahinder Kaur, first apprised the students of Sardar Kartar Singh Sarabha insisted on adopting a progressive and scientific approach toward life is important for individual success and satisfaction. Delivering her lecture on Angiosperms, she unfolded before the students the engrosing story of flowering plants. TNS
