The three-day District-Level (U-14) Games for Boys and Girls conducted by the Punjab Sports Department concluded here today.

Competitions in 15 disciplines namely athletics, basketball, badminton, table tennis, kho-kho, kabaddi, judo, gymnastics, wrestling, volleyball, football, boxing, roller skating, handball and swimming were held under the Tandarust Punjab Mission.

Ravinder Singh, District Sports Officer, Ludhiana, thanked the staff for organising the games. “Competitions for boys and girls U-18 will be held from July 30 to August 1,” he said.

In football (girls) final, Government Senior Secondary School, Kotala village, romped home champions while Sant Ishar Singh School, Rara Sahib, secured the second position and Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Pakhowal village finished at the third place.

In kho-kho final ((boys), Government Senior Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, came out triumphant. The second and third positions were bagged by BCM School, Basant City, and Guru Nanak Public School, Doraha, respectively.

In the girls’ category (kho-kho), Guru Nanak Public School, Bassian (Raikot), bagged the top position and BCM School, Basant City, finished at the second spot while Government High School, Utala (Samrala), secured the third position.

In table tennis team event for boys, Bal Bharti International School got the first position while DCM Presidency School finished as first runners-up and Coaching Centre, Guru Nanak Stadium, along with Elite Academy, shared the third position jointly.

However, in the girls’ group, Coaching Centre at Guru Nanak Stadium emerged winners, followed by BCM Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, at the second spot while Hindi Putri Pathshala School, Khanna, secured the third position.

  • Athletics-100m race (boys): Shanpreet Singh of Guru Nanak Public School, Birmi, stood first, Pushkar of BVM School, Ludhiana, second and Sohit of Jain Model School, Ludhiana, third.
  • 100m race (girls): Harshika Dhammi of DAV School, BRS Nagar, first, Palak of Bal Bharti Public School second and Kashvi of Bal Bharti Public School third.
  • 400m race (boys): Sajim of Khanna stood first, Chirag of Khanna second and Shanpreet Singh of Guru Nanak Public School, Birmi, third.
  • 400m race (girls): Palak of Bal Bharti Public School stood first, Randeep Kaur of Guru Nanak Public School, Bassian, second and Nivedita Ghai of DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, third.
  • High jump (boys): Vishavjeet stood first, Amanpreet Singh second and Gurshaan third.
  • High jump (girls): Amber stood first, Prabhsimran Kaur second and Puneet Kaur third.
  • Discus-throw (boys): Sehajpreet Singh first, Jashandeep Singh second and Amandeep Singh third.
  • Discus-throw (girls): Komalpreet Kaur first, Simranjot Kaur second and Jashanpreet Kaur third.
  • Boxing (boys 28-30 kg): Arnav of Khanna stood first, Navraj of Chakkar second and Vicky of Mangali third.
  • 30-32 kg: Yuvraj of Khanna first, Ajay Kumar of Samrala second and Prince of Mangali and Manpreet of Samrala third.
  • 32-34 kg: Arnav of Khanna stood first, Tanvir of Doraha second and Jatin of Samrala and Parveen of Mangali third.
  • 40-42 kg: Manthan Kumar of Samrala stood first, Gagan Kumar of Chakkar second and Gurkamal Singh of Doraha third.
  • 42-44 kg: Chandan Kumar of Samrala stood first, Ranvir Singh of Khanna second and Harvinder Singh of Doraha third.
  • Volleyball (girls): Government High School, Gidharwindi, stood first, DCM Presidency School second and BVM School, Kitchlu Nagar, third.
  • Handball (boys): International Public School, Sandhu Nagar, stood first, BVM School, Kitchlu Nagar, second and PAU Samrat School, Ludhiana, third.
  • Handball (girls): Government High School, Samaspur Kotala, stood first, Jesus Sacred Heart School, Ludhiana, second and PAU Samrat School, Ludhiana, third.
  • Kabaddi (boys): Government Senior Secondary School, Sarinh, stood first, Government Senior Secondary School, Kotala, second and Government Middle School, Aassi Kalan, third.
