Ludhiana: To beat the heat, a splash pool party’ was arranged for the students of kindergarten of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass. Tiny tots were dressed in colourful swimming costumes, hats and flip flops for the pool party. The pool side was decorated with colourful balls, toys and umbrellas. The kids had a gala time and tapped their feet on rain songs. Principal Baldeep Pandher lauded the efforts made by the teachers in organising the party.
Seminar on commerce
BCM School, Basant City, conducted a seminar for commerce students to motivate them to join the business club of the school. Prem Kumar, executive director, BCM Foundation, was the resource person for the seminar. He shed light on the benefits of new technology and the changing research and development. He highlighted that by becoming a member of the club they can be abreast with the latest technological and research developments.
Hasya Kavi Sammelan
To give a break from studies to students, DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, organised an enthralling ‘Hasya Kavi Sammelan’ for the students of Class VI. Around 30 students participated in the event. It was a treat for lovers of Hindi language. The programme brought budding poets together. Students had a gala time expressing their emotions through their self-composed poems. The students addressed various issues such as corruption, inflation, technology and elections, among others, through light humour and rhyme. Principal Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar appreciated the oratory skills of the students and admired their thoughtful expressions.
New GMT Public girl brings laurels
Tisha, a student from Class XI (Humanities) at New GMT Public School, brought laurels to the school by securing first rank in the state-level karate competition held in Jalandhar. Principal Manjeet Kaur congratulated Tisha and wished her best in life. She also advised the students to channelie their energy and keep practicing to develop their skills in the best way possible.
Mother’s Day celebrated
Om Parkash Bansal Modern School, Mandi Gobindgarh, celebrated Mother’s Day with fervour. A special cultural programme was organised in which mothers showcased their talent by putting-up variety of delightful performances. They were also felicitated with a token of respect by the principal, Sangeeta Sharma. She acknowledged the efforts put up by them to make the day more special. The mothers also participated in a ramp walk and had a gala time throughout the event.
‘Let’s learn Spanish’
To enhance students’ interest in learning languages, BCM School, Chandigarh Road, organised an activity under the British Council’s ISA Project. The activity was designed to add an international dimension to learning. Under this activity, teachers motivated and guided the students to learn words of the Spanish language. Students were excited to learn the pronunciation of certain words and showed eagerness to know more about the language and culture of the country. TNS
