Students don’t need to worry about their certificates getting lost or spoiled anymore as the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has decided to keep the certificates of students safe in digital lockers. Certificates will now be available online.

The PSEB has entered into an agreement with the National Academic Depository (NAD) for the same. Students will have to provide their Aadhaar Card number, phone number and e-mail address, and their certificates will be attached to these later. According to information, certificates will be kept in lockers from next year.

Students will get their digital mark sheet within 10 to 15 days after the declaration of results. In case students want their mark sheet before, then they will be able to download the same from the website of the NAD. Students will be able to download only their mark sheet as they would have to enter the phone number, e-mail address and Aadhaar Card number provided by them to the school.

These digital lockers will be both Aadhaar and non-Aadhaar based. For Aadhaar-based lockers, students will have to enter the Aadhaar number, followed by the phone number and e-mail address. After filling this information, a One Time Password (OTP) will be sent. After entering the OTP, a unique e-mail address will be generated by the NAD.

For non-Aadhaar based lockers, students will have to fill the data they have provided to the PSEB such as their name, date of birth, e-mail address and phone number. The data will be sent to a district manager for verification, after which a unique code will be sent on the registered e-mail address.

“With the PSEB making online lockers, there will now be no fear of certificates being lost or misused as they will be secured online. This is a good step taken by the department and will also make students relaxed as the fear of missing or losing certificates will no longer bother them. They will know that the certificates are kept safe,” said a student of Class IX.
