Punjabi actor Gurpreet Gholi to start new innings as Sarpanch of Taprian

Gurpreet Singh Gholi, a leading actor of Punjabi films and theatre for quite a long time, is gearing up to lead his Taprian village near Samrala for its all round development after his election as village Sarpanch. A small and sleepy village, Taprian had only about 200 votes out of which only 159 cast their vote. Gurpreet Gholi secured 102 votes, while his opponent, Advocate Bhagwant Singh could score only 49. Around 8 votes were cancelled during results.
Gholi stated that his agenda included opening a gym in his village and organise tournaments to keep youth away from the menace of drugs. Village street lights, sewerage and construction of streets and nullahs are some of the issues of the village apart from the construction of a main street leading to the village from Samrala. Gholi said he would work hard for solving of these problems with the help of MLA Samrala Amrik Singh Dhillon and the Punjab Government.
Gholi has contributed a lot to the culture of Punjab as he started his journey from school days with Bhangra and participated in plays. Gholi had dis major role in a number of Punjabi serials including Wagdi Se Ravi, Virasat and Sandli Pairan with Doordarshan and later he worked with Punjabi Films. He had played a big role in Punjabi Films Judge Singh LLB, Dangar Doctor, Rab Rakha and he also playing a leading role in coming two Punjabi Films named Mittran Da Na Chalda and Jat Pardesi. Gholi said that although he had to spent huge time in films and serials but he will spare required time for village developement.
Gurpreet Gholi said today he relaxed with his family members after a hectic election process of about 15 days and he along with his family members and his wife helped him to reach the residents of the village and the villagers helped him in bog win. He also stated that he fought this election without any use of liquor or any any other items during elections and the villagers helped him in his mission for the developement of his village.
