Puppet-making competition

LUDHIANA: A puppet making competition was organised at Guru Nanak Public School, Birmi, to develop the creativity and imagination of students. Students from Class III to V participated in the competition.

LUDHIANA: A puppet making competition was organised at Guru Nanak Public School, Birmi, to develop the creativity and imagination of students. Students from Class III to V participated in the competition. They made beautiful puppets of paper. Principal HK Dua said such such competitions helped in developing the motor skills of students and promote learning-by-doing.

Prize distribution function

A prize distribution function was organised at DGSG Public School. Parents of the students were also invited. Gurbachan Singh Grewal, president of school, was the chief guest. Students, who had performed well in academics, were honoured with trophy and a certificate. Best attendance and merit certificates were also given.

World Book Day celebrations

World Book Day was commemorated at Manav Rachna International School. Books of various genre were distributed among students. Colourful pictures, fascinating stories and thrilling events captivated and fantasised young readers. They explored the meanings of new words and terms. Loud reading was exercised and inspirational stories were narrated by readers.

Literary Conclave at RIS

Students from Class IX to XII of Ryan International School took part in a literary conclave organised on the school campus. They actively participated in debate, declamation, blackout poetry, one-act play, display advertisement-making , literary quiz. Students enhanced their knowledge, confidence and polished their fluency and got rid of their stage fear, through these competitions. Gurjot Singh, an eminent debater; Jaya, English teacher; and Anika Duggal, head of play school, presided over as judges. The winners were felicitated by the judges. The first positions were held by Samridhi Kapila and Ravneet Kaur for debate, Arshia for declamation, Janvi and Tarusha for blackt-out poetry and Kirti, Aditi, Abhar and Arjun from Aryabhatta house for literary quiz.

Orientation programme

A parents orientation programme on child behaviour was organised at St Soldiers Divine Public School, Golf Link, Hambran Road.  Principal Dinesh Malik highlighted the vision and philosophy of the school. He also introduced the academic, administrative and support staff. The aim was to give parents an opportunity to experience and understand the world their children explore at school. 

Kindergarten Welcome Party

A welcome party was organised for newly admitted students at the campus of HVM Convent Senior Secondary School, Basti Jodhewal. The tiny tots, in colourful attires, enjoyed the party. School president DP Sharma and Principal Sunita Kumari were also present. Chairman Dilbagh Singh sent his blessings to the children from Gujarat.

Freshers’ party organised

A freshers’ party to welcome new entrants of nursery was organised in the Kindergarten Block. Principal JP Singh was the chief guest. Students showcased various performances, including dance. Dilraj and Jaspreet were adjudged “Mr Fresher” and “Miss Fresher”, respectively.

Green Land Convent School

A freshers’ party was organised by the Kindergarten wing of the school to welcome the students. Boys came dressed as rock stars, while girls as fairies. Solo dances were performed. Students also participated in  ramp-walk.

Wipro Earthian award ceremony 

A Wipro Earthian Orientation Award ceremony was organised for 35 schools of the city in collaboration with Wipro at BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar. The Wipro Earthian programme received many submissions from various schools. Principal Paramjit Kaur was the chief guest. TNS

Session on fire safety measures

Ludhiana: A session on ‘Fire and Safety Measures’ was conducted by Darshan Academy, Ludhiana for students and faculty  of the school. Manjeet Singh and Suresh Kumar from department of fire and safety measures acquainted everyone with the five types of fires.—TNS
