Ludhiana: A rakhi making activity was organised at GNPS, Birmi. Students of Class VI to VIII prepared ornamental rakhis on the occasion. Students along with their teachers paid a visit at Darpan School to strengthen the bond of love with special children. Kids tied hand-made rakhis on the wrists of special children and distributed sweets.
DCM students bring laurels
The U-14 cricket team of DCM Presidency School emerged as the winners at the Zonal Cricket Tournament. The DCMP team thrashed Darshan Academy by nine runs. Coach Mohit said when players play with passion and are not under pressure they are bound to emerge victorious.
Inter-house quiz held
BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, organised an inter - house quiz and PPT competiton. The main objective of the event was to celebrate unity in diversity and create an environment that promotes learning of culture and heritage of different states and UTs.
Ex-PM Vajpayee remembered
Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Kitchlu Nagar, organised a poetry event to offer tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Students of junior classes recited poems penned by Vajpayee. On the spot poem writing competition was held for students of senior classes.
Bookmark contest organised
Drishti Dr RC Jain Innovative Public School organised a bookmark contest. The bookmarks were adjudged on the basis of creativity, colour combination and presentation. The competition aimed to encourage reading among children and give them an opportunity to express and develop their creativity.
Table tennis tourney
Students of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, bagged a gold, silver and bronze medal at the Ludhiana Zonal Level Tournaments in various games organised by the Punjab School Education Department. In table tennis U-19 (girls) tourney, the school team bagged the first position and in U-17 (girls) team clinched the first position. In U-14 category the school team stood second.
World Photography Day
The Montessori students of Ryan International School, Dugri, participated in a declamation contest as they celebrated World Photography Day. Tiny tots spoke about a picture they liked in a newspaper and the impact it left on them.
Saplings planted
USPC Jain Public School celebrated ‘Prakriti Mahotsava’ under ‘Mission Green Schools’ initiated by the Central Board of Secondary Education to make younger generations more sensitive and concerned about the environment. A total of 11 saplings were planted by the ‘Swacch USPC Club’ and were named after martyrs. — TNS
