Ludhiana, September 8
Rara Sahib Zone beat Samrala Zone by 23 runs to romp home victorious in the Ludhiana District Schools’ Cricket Tournament (U-17) held at Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, here yesterday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Rara Sahib Zone scored 126 runs after losing nine wickets with main contributions coming through Akashdeep and Sukhraj, who scored 40 and 14 runs, respectively.
In reply, Samrala Zone made 103 runs, falling short of the target by 24 runs. Karkwal contributed 28 runs, while Dilkaran scored 16 runs.
Vikramjit Bhanot, Assistant Education Officer, Ludhiana, and Harmeet Kaur Waraich, Principal of Nankana Sahib Public School, were the guests of honour on the occasion. Jagrrop Singh, DPE, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University, and Rahul, convener of the tournament were also present.
