Realtor booked for abetting suicide by wife

Ludhiana: The Sarabha Nagar police have booked a realtor, identified as Sandeep Ralhan, and his mother, both residents of Gurgaon, on the charges of abetting the suicide of his wife. Rakesh Sabharwal of New Aman Park said his relative, Sonal Ralhan (42), married the accused about 21 years ago. She had allegedly been tortured by her husband for a long time. On August 29, she came to his house and went into a room to rest. When she did not come out of the room for a long time, his wife Suman went to check out. She was shocked to find Sonal hanging. She is survived by her two sons Raghuraj and Pulkit. The investigating officer, ASI Jaspal Singh, said a team would be sent to Gurgaon to arrest the accused. TNS

500 examined at medical camp

Mandi Ahmedgarh: A multi-disciplinary medical camp was organised at Jain Samadh, near grain market, here by the local unit of Jain Club on Thursday. The camp was inaugurated by Prem Jain, president of the SS Jain Sabha; and the concluding session was chaired by Aman Jain, chief of the host club. Aman Jain said teams of physicians led by Dr RS Gupta (medicine and skin), Dr BS Chadha (eye surgeon) and gynaecologist Dr Shaeil examined over 500 patients for various diseases and gave free treatment to them. During the concluding session, the doctors informed participants about diseases with special focus on prevention and diagnosis of cardiovascular disorders and cancer. OC

One held with stolen scooter

Khanna: The Khanna police claimed to have arrested a truck driver and recovered a stolen scooter from his possession. The accused had been identified as Gurpreet Singh, a resident of Chotian in Bathinda district. Khanna SSP Dhruv Dahiya said a police party from the Khanna city had set up a naka at Birdh Ashram, GT Road, Khanna, based on some secret information. During the naka, the police party stopped a truck (bearing registration no. PB-29-C-9197) coming from Gobindgarh side. A scooter Maestro Model 2018 that was stolen from Focal Point, Khanna, was recovered from the truck driver, Gurpreet Singh. A case under Sections 379-B, 34 and 411 of the IPC has been registered against the above said accused and another accused Jagga Singh, a resident of Kotli Ablu, Muktsar Sahib district, who is yet to be arrested. Former employee commits burglary at showroom, booked

Ludhiana: A former employee of a garment showroom was booked by the police for committing theft at a showroom located in AC market. The accused has been identified as Manga, while two of his accomplices are yet to be identified. Complainant Hari Krishan said he closed the showroom on August 26 and when he came to open it the next day, he found Rs 2.90 lakh missing. Later, when the CCTV footage was checked, he identified one of the accused as Manga, who had left the job at showroom about three years ago.

Married woman goes missing, Jawaddi resident booked

The Sarabha Nagar police have booked a man on the charge of keeping a woman in wrongful confinement. The accused has been identified as Arjun of Jawaddi village. Complainant Lakhwinder Singh of Ludhiana told the police that his wife Jatinderi (26) was working in some private hospital and on August 22, she did not return home. He suspects that Arjun might have kept her in illegal confinement. The police have launched a manhunt.

Tajpur Road resident held with 50-gm heroin 

The anti-narcotics cell of the city police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered 50-gram heroin from him. The accused has been identified as Vicky Sharma, a resident of Tajpur Road. ASI Jaspal Singh said during a routine checking in Jamalpur, the accused was stopped for checking on suspicion and during a search of his vehicle, narcotics recovered. TNS
