Armed robbers took away gold and jewellery from a jeweller’s shop on 33-foot Daba Road, near Kanganwal, on Saturday afternoon. A case has been registered at the Sahnewal police station against three unidentified robbers.
Three motorcycle-borne robbers barged into a shop, Krishna Jewellers, in Dhillon Market on Daba Road and looted 2 tolas of gold and some silver jewellery. Krishan Kumar Verma, owner of the shop, who resides at Sherpur, said: “I opened the shop around 11 am. At 12.15 pm, three youths, who had their faces covered and were wearing hats, entered the shop and threatened me with dire consequences if I raised the alarm. They had pistols. They asked me to sit still till they are done with looting. They took away 2 tolas of gold and some silver jewellery from the shop. They escaped on their white-coloured motorcycle parked outside the shop after looting the jewellery.”
Investigating officer Joginder Singh said a case had been registered against three unidentified accused at the Sahnewal police station.
