Role-play competition organised
Ludhiana: Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, organised a role-play competition for the students of primary wing. The objective of organising the competition was to develop confidence of the tiny tots and to promote the skills of effective public speaking among them. The event was a blend of education and fun filled activities. All the students put up their best show. The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students.
English Day observed
Police DAV Public School, Police Line, Civil Lines, observed a week-long celebration of English Day under the aegis of English Literary Club of the school. The celebrations were observed to commemorate the birth and death anniversary of William Shakespeare. Special assemblies were organised for Class I to XII in which different activities such as poem recitation, play enactment and vocabulary enrichment activities were conducted to boost the knowledge of the studenys.
International Dance Day
BVM, Kitchlu Nagar, celebrated International Dance Day with great pomp and show. Various activities under the talent show were organised. Around 100 students participated in solo dance competition. Students also participated in modern, classical, folk, patriotic and bollywood forms of dance. Principal Neelam Mittar appreciated the participants and said dance built invaluable social and personal skills among sudents and helps them express themselves better.
Investiture held
USPC Jain Public School, Chandigarh Road, organised an investiture today in which students were invested as office bearers. The ceremony commenced with lamp lighting, followed by Navkar Mantra. Pratyush Jha and Komal Sharma were elected the headboy and headgirl, respectively. The duuties of vice headboy and vice headgirl were bestowed upon Harshvardhan Malik and Mehak Kumari, respectively. The newly elected student council took a pledge to perform their duties diligently and to the best of their abilities.
Interactive session organised
Activity-based-session on “class group projects and community development” was held at GMT Public School, Jalandhar bypass, for teachers of the kindergarten wing. Jasbir Kaur Bal, principal of the school, was the the resource person for this interactive session. She laid emphasis on the concept of students working in groups on different projects to promote a setting where collaboration and cooperation are valued to produce better results. Teachers also participated in a brainstorming session to understand what is takes to make ideas more creative and increase productivity. The students of the kindergarten wing participated in different class group projects to improve their social and emotional skills.
Poster-making competition
A poster making and calligraphy competition were conducted at SDP Senior Secondary School, Hazuri Road. About 50 students participated in the poster making competition on the theme ‘Earth Day’. Gurkanwal Singh, Abhijeet, Karan Kumar and Tanish Sadder were declared winners of the competition. Calligraphy competition witnessed participation of about 60 students in two catagories. Gurkanwal Singh, Sahil Dubey, Abhijeet and Tanish Sadda were the position holders in the senior category, while Jatin Singla, Santosh, Lovish, Adesh and Anshul won in the junior category.
Annual prize distribution
To celebrate the achievements of their students, Kundan Vidya Mandir organised the annual prize distribution function. Students put up a grand cultural show to celebrate the occasion. The extravaganza began with Guru Vandana to seek the blessings of the Almighty. The students of pre-primary wing presented a musical dance performance. The group song and Rajasthani ‘Chirmi’ dance left the audience spellbound. Principal Navita Puri motivated the students to climb the ladder of success. TNS
