Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Sahnewal, has been ranked as the best performing school among the Jalandhar Diocesan Schools, consecutively for the second year, in the survey conducted by the Diocesan Board of Education, to assess the overall performance for the year 2017-18. The school has won the Rolling Trophy for the year 2017-18 by scoring 1,703 points for the overall performance of the year. The survey included around 60 schools of the diocese from Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
The award of Excellence and certificate was received by the School Director. Fr William Sahota, Principal Sr Crispin Maria, along with the representatives of staff and students from the Patron of the Diocesan Schools, Bishop Agnelo Rufino Gracias, on the occasion of the Feast of Christ, the King held in Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School campus at Sahnewal.
Delighted over the achievement, Director Fr William Sahota said: “I congratulate the entire school community, the school Principal, staff, students and our parents on the success, but at the same time I want to remind them that we have the potential do much better and in time we will certainly race ahead”.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Chairman of the Diocesan Board of Education Msgr Xavier Thazuthuveetil said; “The achievement was the result of hard work of the principal, teaching, non-teaching staff and students, who excelled in academics, sports and various co-curricular activities throughout the academic session,” he added. He also said in a span of few years, the school had gained its position among the top leading schools of the diocese.
Sacred Heart Sr Sec School, BRS Nagar was declared as the school with the highest number of points among the two CBSE Schools. St Patrick’s School, Nai – Abadi was declared as the school with highest number of points among nine PSEB Schools. Sacred Heart Sr Sec School, Karyal is the school with the highest number of points among the PSEB Higher Secondary schools. St Paul’s Junior Convent School, Rawan is the school with highest number of points among 10 - ICSE primary schools, St Joseph’s Convent School, Mukerian is the school with highest number of points among the 5 - ICSE Middle Schools, St. Joseph’s Convent School, Phagwara is the school with highest number of points among the 27- ICSE Schools.
